指数法則流体 (ニュートン流体, 凝塑性流体およびダイラタント流体) の流動特性の解析を行った.実験に使用した装置は落体式の一種である落針式粘度計 (Falling Needle Viscometer) で, 落体には両端に半球部分を有する細長い円柱型ニードルを用いた.\n指数法則流体の流動特性の解析は, 流体中を定速落下しているニードルの表面と試料流体が入れられている円管容器の内壁面の2つの表面間の流体挙動を層流の流体モデルとして解析することにより, (1) ニードルと流体の密度差の測定, (2) ニードルの終末速度の測定, (3) ニードル表面における剪断応力, 剪断速度の計算, (4) 構成方程式中のパラメーターの決定, (5) 流体の流動曲線の作成の手順で行われた.\nニードルと流体の密度差と終末速度から得られたUt- (ρs-ρf) 線図および logUt-log (ρs-ρf) 線図の形状は解析されたτ-r線図およびlogτ-logr線図とそれぞれ相似形であった.その結果, Utと (ρs-ρf) のデータから流体の流動曲線の形状を予測できることが明らかになった.本法は高粘性流体に対する測定精度が良好であり, 高分子溶液や微粒子分散溶液のような指数法則流体に対して流動解析が可能であった.さらに,
