| 内容記述 | 近年，情報化の進展にともない，高等教育における遠隔教育の必要性が高まり,多くの大学で実施もしくは実施に向けた準備を整えている．このような遠隔教育にも,100年以上にわたる歴史があり，国情の違いや，利用するメディアの特性により独自の変遷を遂げてきた．本論では，まず遠隔教育の歴史をオーストラリア，イギリス，アメリカ合衆国，タイ，韓国，そして中国について述べる． 日本の遠隔教育に関しても，その中心的役割を果たしてきた放送大学の成立をふり返ったうえで，最近の動向にも触れる．そして，遠隔教育におけるメディアの役割と重要性を述べ，遠隔教育がメディアを活用した教育と位置づける．つぎに，遠隔授業の事例分析として，平成11, 12年度に関西大学で実施した早稲田大学との遠隔授業をとりあげる．早稲田大学との遠隔授業においては， 2年間の参与観察で得られたBBS (電子掲示板）のログ，アンケート調査，インタビューをもとに，教員，学生それぞれの遠隔授業に対する視点を抽出する．そのうえで双方の視点のズレを検討し，遠隔授業改善のための提案を試みる．また，「メディアを活用した授業」では，知識伝達型ではなく，問題解決型の学習形態をとる必要性を明らかにする．最後に，今後の遠隔教育を展望する． | |||||

| 内容記述 | As our society develops into Information Society, new needs for higher education have emerged, notably, distance education. As a result, there are many colleges and universities which offer distance education in their curriculum with people from around the world joining into the programs. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the necessity of problem-solving learning in distance education, in the following three sections: 1 ) Tracing the brief history of distance education in seven countries, Australia, China, Korea, Thailand, UK, the US, and Japan. 2 ) Focusing on the importance and role of media in distance education. 3) Analyzing a case study, distance education between Waseda Univ. and Kansai Univ. in 1999·2000, from the views of teachers and students on BBS logs, questionnaires, and interviews to improve distance education. |
