| 内容記述 | The term "development communication" has not been well recognized by development professionals and practitioners in Japan because Japanese policy has not embraced such a perspective of connecting "development" and "communication". In this paper, the author describes the paradigm shift from mainstream development to alternative development. Accordingly, this paradigm shift influenced the field of development communication, which has shifted from a diffusion model to an empowerment model. People's participation has become the key concept for alternative communication in which the use of small media, such as popular theater and participatory video, are utilized as examples of new communication strategies. | |||||
