The formality level of broadcast news as well as public speeches is, in general, considered to be high. Using research conducted with the aid of an acoustic speech analyser called Praat, this paper demonstrates that some phonetic characteristics typically observed in casual speech also appear in American TV news English. By examining both segmental and suprasegmental aspects of broadcast news English, it became clear that 1) such phonetic phenomena as elision, assimilation, nasal release, and linking are quite common in broadcast English, 2)stress-timed rhythm is present in newscasters' speech, though its isocronism was not confirmed, 3)the use of lower pitch range is relatively stable, while there are variations in the use of higher pitch range, and 4)the pause ratio in news read by American anchorpeople is lower than that in news read by Japanese news announcers.","subitem_description_type":"Other"},{"subitem_description":"テレビニュース英語は,その言語表現の丁寧さの観点から,パブリック・スピーチなどと同様,一般的に,フォーマル (formal) なスピーチスタイル (speech style) の範疇に分類される。特に,政治に関するニュースでは,より丁寧な言語表現が使用される(井上, 2017, p. 67)。テレビニュース英語は,原稿の段階では「書きことば」で,ニューズライターが推敲を重ねてニュース原稿として出来上がる。それをプロのニューズキャスターが読み上げた瞬間から「話しことば」へと変換される。また,ニュース内容は正確に視聴者に伝達されなければならないため,ニューズキャスターには発音の明瞭性が要求されるが,フォーマルなニュース英語の中にも,会話などカジュアルな英語に見られる発音と共通した特徴が現れる。本論では,アメリカテレビニュース英語の音声特性を,一般的な会話などの話しことばに現れる音声現象に言及しながら,音響音声学の手法を用いて分析する。また,本論ではニュース英語の音声特性を 1) 分節音素と,2) プロソディーおよびその他の二つに大別して検討する。","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_10_full_name_3":{"attribute_name":"著者別名","attribute_value_mlt":[{"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"20948","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}],"names":[{"name":"Yamane, Shigeru"}]}]},"item_10_publisher_34":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"関西大学外国語学部"}]},"item_10_source_id_10":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AA12450939","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_10_source_id_8":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"18839355","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_10_version_type_17":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"山根, 繁"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{},{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2019-05-22"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"KU-1100-20171000-02.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"3.4 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"KU-1100-20171000-02.pdf","url":"https://kansai-u.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/10249/files/KU-1100-20171000-02.pdf"},"version_id":"825e6dd7-b285-4a05-8fcc-d6d17f916275"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"関西大学","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Kansai University","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"テレビニュース英語","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"スピーチスタイル","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"分節素","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"プロソディー","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"ポーズ","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"アメリカテレビニュース英語の音声特性 : 音響分析から","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"アメリカテレビニュース英語の音声特性 : 音響分析から"}]},"item_type_id":"10","owner":"1","path":["1477"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2017-11-21"},"publish_date":"2017-11-21","publish_status":"0","recid":"10249","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["アメリカテレビニュース英語の音声特性 : 音響分析から"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":1},"updated":"2023-05-15T14:50:57.139696+00:00"}
