| 内容記述 | The current study was undertaken to clarify the relationships between vocabulary learning strategies, motivation, and extracurricular study time in relation to TOEIC scores. A total of 244 university EFL learners participated in the sudy where questionnaires asking about vocabulary learning strategies and motivation were administered. In addition to the quqntative data obtained from the questionnaires, qualitative analyses of study logs and interview sessions were also integrated into the analyses to corrobarate the quantative results. In the correlation analysis, metacognitive strategies, intrinsic motivation, and extracurricular study time showd higher correlations with TOEIC scores than with other variavles. In structural equation modeling (SEM) , vocabulary learning strategies as a whole had the greatest influence on TOEIC scores. Subsequent cluster analysis along with qualitative analyses revealed that learners with higher TOEIC scores had clear goals and attended to vocabulary learing strategies in conscious, coordinated, and structured manners. In addition, learners who possessed knowledge of strategies but might not apply the strategies to thier everyday learning situations existed. Another group of learners without clear objectives who reported less frequent strategy use and low motivation was also identified. | |||||
