<dc:description>In this article I sum up the result of my investigations for the CHC project. The theme of my study was to illuminate the aspects of European cross-cultural understanding of the ancient Egyptian culture. As an introductory study for this theme I analyzed some aspects of cross-cultural understanding of Ancient Greeks in the 5th century BCE. My particular subjects are as follows. 1. Features of cross-cultural understanding of Ancient Greeks through the dichotomy of 'Nomos' and 'Physis'. 2. Features of cross-cultural understanding of Herodotus, especially concerning the cultures of Scythia and Egypt.</dc:description>
