<dc:description>Tsuchida Bakusen (1887-1936) can be understood as a leader of the innovative Kokuga Sosaku Kyokai (National Creative Painting Association). This paper explores the relationship of Tsuchida Bakusen with the activities of the Kokuga Sosaku Kyokai. It especially focuses on the latter period of the Kokuten from 1924 to 1928. Two problems are considered: the process and the background of the dissolution, Bakusen's works and the evaluation of those works. The results of this paper show that Bakusen's works during the latter period of the Kokuten pursued an aesthetic that was quiet, everlasting, and formed by clear lines and colors. It is argued that Bakusen's philosophy of art was unique in the Kokuten.</dc:description>
