<dc:description>The article deals with the artworks of Ike Taiga, belonging to his early period of artistic creation, particularly to his twenties. Although generally Taiga is considered as the accomplisher of Japanese literati painting（ bunjinga）, he left surprisingly different works from the stylistic point of view. For this reason reconsideration of his early creation can provide a new image of Taiga as an independent creator. In his early years we can see not only experiments with various painting techniques and the desire to acquire practical knowledge of Chinese painting, but also a tendency for trying different visual effects which is related to his broad-minded and curious personality.</dc:description>
