This has resulted in Chinese parents who are focused on the education of their children making housing purchases that enable their children to access the school of their choice. Through a field investigation and interview survey of 19 households in Gulou District, Nanjing, China, this study clarifies the preferred conditions of the parental purchase of commercial housing in a school district as well as children's room planning.
