The Attitude of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers toward Management : Suggestions for a Revised Interpretation Hirose, Mikiyoshi 37291 廣瀬, 幹好 30156715 This paper explores the attitude of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (A.S.M.E.) toward management, with particular reference to the initial period of the Society. The author makes a close examination of a predominant opinion that the Society had restricted the opportunity of study and discussion of management by around 1910, and describes the story about establishing the Management Division at the Society.
