In the meantime, both of Japan and China began to adopt the “collotype” technology from the West in order to preserve the original images of those cultural relics, especially the fine calligraphic and pictorial works. In order to restore and pass down the cultural tradition to the generations to come, Luo Zhenyu end Nitō Konan made great efforts in the period of early Republican China and Taishō Japan, especially when the Sui Ding Daohu shu Qifa-si Bei was published in the early 1920s in Japan.
