东方文化联盟成立的背景和过程 The Background and Process of the Formation of the East Cultural Alliance 劉, 重越 アジア主義 東方文化聯盟 清水银藏 内藤湖南 関西大学 Kansai University Among the Asian groups in modern Japan, the Eastern Cultural Alliance is not a national group but a regional one with its headquarters in Osaka, so it is mostly active in Kansai area. However the Eastern Cultural Alliance, located in Kansai not only had strong commercial features of modern Osaka, but its members belonged mostly to business and industrial sectors. Furthermore it is mainly focusing on the long-term relationship with India. This characteristic distinguishes the Eastern Cultural Alliance from other Asian unions. This paper examines the background and the process of the establishment of this Alliance and makes it quite special. Based on the thesis of Prof. Demin Tao of Kansai University this paper further examines the detailed process of the groundwork of this alliance.
