近代日中における翻訳事業と思想受容 ―「自由」を実例として Translation Enterprises and Cultural Exchanges between Modern China and Japan: the Case of“ Liberty” 王, 暁雨 “Ziyou”, a word originally from the Chinese classics, has been used in Japan since the end of the 16th century. In modern times, the word was introduced again to China as the translation of “liberty” and played an important role in the Sino-Japanese languageinterchange history. In this article, the history of translation of “ziyou” both in China nd Japan will be discussed.
