| 内容記述 | Newsletter Hakuen was a publication of the Hakuen Academy, a private school for Chinese studies based in Osaka Japan. This newsletter was published over a period of sixteen years, from 1927 to 1943. FUJISAWA Koha and ISHIHAMA Juntaro were responsible for editing Hakuen, with ISHIHAMA playing a particularly important role in deciding the policy of the newsletter, as well as article writing. The students of Hakuen Academy also greatly contributed to editing the newsletter. Hakuen managed to be published throughout the Showa period despite facing many difficulties, not least of all the Second World War. It is an extremely important resource, not only for understanding the activities, academic interests, and personal connections of the Hakuen Academy, but also for gaining a greater understanding of Sinological studies in modern era Japan overall, as well as the arts and culture of Osaka. This paper will examine the relevant bibliographic data of Hakuen, and then go on to discuss the policy direction, editing staff and the distinctive characteristics of the articles of this important newsletter. | |||||
