| 内容記述 | During the Sino-French War, Chinese popular prints which depicted the battle scenes widely circulated in Chinese market. To suite the local customers' tastes, most of these pictures tend to over praise the bravery and victory of Chinese army, even though they were actually defeated on the battle field. Some of these prints were introduced by western pictorials and fiercely blamed for these "forged victory." Through investigating the different stance between Western newspapers and Eastern popular prints, we can see the different definitions of "reality", and how the visual media functioned as the field for the Power discourse. | |||||
