概要
内容記述タイプ Other
内容記述 Quanzhou has been known as a harbor city of China since ancient times, and its specific evidence was the discovery of a sunken ship found in Houzhu in Quanzhou Bay in 1973 to 1974. The discovery of this sunken ship greatly shocked the world’s academic community and developed into the new study of cultural interaction with the vocabulary “Silk Road of the Sea.” Though the discovery of the sunken ship stimulated East-West cultural interaction widely throughout the world, who the people in the coastal area who supported the international expansion of Quanzhou since ancient times really are has not been so clear. According to History of Foreign Product Market, the 27th volume of History of Jinjiang by Dao Guang, though Jinjiang in Quanzhou is located in the coastal area, there was no trading point for foreign trade. However, small ships were built, and people were engaged in commercial activities in the ports of Hanjiang, Yongning, Xiangzhi, and Shenhu. The ships belonging to these areas went to Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province in the north and Guangdong Province and Taiwan in the south, and many of them worked not only in the coastal area but also internationally. The goods from Taiwan were carried to Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, and Guangdong Province by ships from the Quanzhou area. Based on interviews with several people who were captains of wooden shops in the ports in the coastal area in Fujian Province in August 2008 in cooperation with Quanzhou Museum of International Transportation and Communication History, I’d like to consider how the people in Jinjiang during the Qing Era went overseas and reveal the reality of voyages by ships from Quanzhou in Fujian Province.
